Apple’s new iPhone 5 could be housed in a little-known hi-tech alloy known as ‘liquid metal’ This was used to produce the sim tray tool’s. The metal consists of titanium, nickel, copper and zirconium. It is very tough, quite resilient to scratches and is glass like in touch.

We expect the iPhone 5 to make an appearance around October, the shortage of high tech components like this might make it even longer. The material can really open up design aspects as it can be shaped similar to the way plastic is is using a process called injection molding. This will ultimately mean that the shape can be extravagantly curvaceous.
